I've heard the opposite re the Dragon at the Merit so I guess you take a chance and see for yourself.

One thing I would advise is take plenty of money, it is extortionate in there!

Please let us all know how you get on?

We eventually went to the Dragon near Lemar in Girne very good but expensive for over here but then again we would pay that in Manchester so all in all enjoyed it.

Tried Laughing Buddha a while ago. Very nice but pricey. Dragon at Merit Royal also good,565TL for 4 people,2 courses, bottle wine, 2 G & T's & 2 small Efes. They "gave" complimentary pudding, ice cream in batter. Food was good.

Very similar price to the Dragon in Girne. We paid 634tl had the 2 course plus 3 lots of dim sum, 3 Efes, 2 coke and a bottle of wine.

unfortunately there are no good chinese restaurants in Girne. PLus they are all rip offs. These guys pay their workers like 3 hundo a month and charge us UK prices. TRNC is getting way too expensive ... starting to prefer SE asia countries..

I agree, Chinese food here is not even as good as good takeaways at home But, always enjoy the REd Lion food. Never had a bad meal there and their soups are really good.

Just had a meal here with friends, best Chinese in the north and the views are to die for. Each dish tasted completely different from the rest and they even advised 2 egg fried rice would be enough for 4 of us when we ordered 4 portions. Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Tried Laughing Budha and had a lovely meal. The only downside was the dim sum the wrapping for them was far too thick. Would not put me off going again but would try the ribs next time.
Tried Punkcafe opposite the Harley Davidson shop lovely freshly cooked food. Seems to cook for one table at a time but was well worth the wait. The spring rolls were lovely and light, Prawn patties were very good as was the noodle dish and green Thia curry. Definitely worth a visit!
