Re: Rumba at the Tumba - Esentepe
THE first event of EFRAR 2018 supporting Tulips took place on Sunday, 9th July and raised TL1,020.
The event was the annual Rumba at the Tumba in Esentepe and once again it was well attended with about 70 people enjoying the event; a mixture of regular supporters and holiday-makers making it a fun in the sun afternoon.
Entertainment was provided by John and Bob who played and sang all afternoon and well into the evening, ensuring the dance floor was in constant use.
As in previous years, a group of 20 Filipino dancers performed their traditional dances in national costumes with grace and elegance and as a special treat this year, they brought along a young Filipino singer who delighted the crowd.
Mary Watson, Chair of the 2018 EFRAR committee commented: “Once again we were delighted to welcome John and Bob and the Filipino dancers and singer who give up their time, free of charge, to support us and to support Tulips. We appreciate all the help we get from our supporters and we really could not do this without their help.”
Our thanks go to Şevki, the owner of The Tumba, who donated 5TL from each meal, our chefs, Alex Kennedy and Paul Lee for the excellent BBQ our entertainers, everyone who contributed to the raffle and, of course, everyone who came and joined in the fun. (228)
