Cacti Garden

We are looking at the possibilities of having a cacti (cactus) garden. Does anyone know anyone that knows about planning and building a cactus garden.

Hi Brenda, I have a huge cacti garden 10 metres long and some cacti are now nearly 5 feet tall. I live in Sinai Egypt which is just sand, stones, boulders and a bit of dirt!. Cacti thrive very well in most environments if not overwatered or are attacked by frost. I have placed large boulders at different heights and then just mixed a bit of soil, some goats droppings or other compost with the natural sand/stone/debris. The main thing is to allow for irrigation and water run off otherwise water will collect and the cacti will rot. So sand and stones are great for that. I water mine every 2 - 3 days depending on the heat. They soon multiply and can also produce some beautiful flowers without a lot of backbreaking gardening. Hope this has been of help and good luck

We have just been to Lanzaroti and seen some really nice ones. We have a wasted space approx 12Yards by 4 yards so we want a cacti garden.
We have had different ideas about how to use the space and finally found something we both want!! so it would be nice to get it in motion.
