Cactus about to blossom I think. We have lived here 3 years and never flowered before, plus it is the only one of 3 to bloom. If any one had any info on how often it flowers or for how long.
Would appreciate it.

Patience is a virtue....I know.............I don`t have any either.....................
Apparently it will take a few weeks possibly August time............but will update with pictures at different stages.
When it dies , eventually will have to decide what will take up the place of it as it acts as a screen.
The other 2 next to it may spread. Will see...............

Depends. Can be anything from 10 to 60 years..but with all the rain we have had, plus some idiot kept watering it when he did the rest of the garden, it accelerated the growth.

It only flowers once apparently, but then gives birth to lots of babies.

Just like Nigel's from the other forum. His is now flowering and the 'leaves' have now died. I also have some, not sure which Agave (not a cactus) variety mine is. Mine has been here for 7 or eight years and is about 4' high. I've seen lots here in the village(Dipkarpaz). It seems the old flower stems don't disappear easily. There is a footpath lined with these plants and it looks not so nice. Lots of plants in various stages of their life, lots of dead 'leaves', lots of dead stalkes, lots of babies.
Actually in this photo they don't look too bad
