Filiz The Cutting Room specialises in long hair I never go anywhere else I have tried them all. She is off the New Harbour road turn left by the Private hospital and shes on the right not far down.

I just want to post on here my experience with the hairdresser opposite the Stone Arch Restaurant in Girne just down the street from the George.

I went in last Wednesday & had hair extensions which cost TL300,

Thursday Morning they fell out, went down to complain , & got no joy at all, TL300 is a lot of money to me, but he would not refund my money.

I certainly will not be going back there.

I personally found his attitude very barbaric he just did not care.

Velena next to HSBC bank in Girne. The hairdresser is fantastic and does what you ask him to do, unlike all the others that are mentioned. He doesn't speak English but the owner/receptionist does and she interprets for you. Absolutely brilliant and only going there from now on. He did not burn me with the hairdrier, as do all the others, He did not over work my hair, as do all the others. What is it with these hairdressers when they spend 3 times as long as necessary drying the hair. Totally oblivious to the damage they are causing! Further swinging their driers in and out of the cowboy holster says it all.

I would 100% recommend Zera kuafor, it's up the road from the colour roundabouts. Turkish lads from London so fluent in English and Turkish! Wouldn't go to anyone else!!

If you have not already sorted your hairdresser, I would definitely recommend Gulshen at Glamour Fairy Alsancak, tel 0533 888 9333, I also have long hair and been using her for 3 years, no problems at all, she also has brilliant assistant Bahar who plaits hair superbly and in this weather it is a god send. Good Luck on your quest.

Marion, thank you for the recommendation of Bonita, I went there for the first time last night and was instantly made to feel at home, fantastic cut exactly how I wanted it and recommendations on local hair products to buy here that compare to what I used in the UK. I will now be a regular.
