I did a bit more digging for you to give you an idea of what you should pay
https://ompensions.co.uk/media/146961/t ... enotes.pdf
This company charge £750 for a transfer analysis and initial advice . Not sure if you can go to them direct .advisers who do not have the prerequisite qualifications use them and then slap on a bigger fee or commissions . If you can you will definately be best to use a companynlike this where you pay an upfront flat fee .

Vaughan There is a phone in advise programme Money Box Live on Wednesday this week
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b062dh75
On Saturday just gone they were explaining paying additional NI to increase your state pension it comes up 18 minuites into the programme
As to IFA's I would research the changes and your options and save your money
When "A" day was announced 10 years ago I sorted it all our myself and ended up assisting a few of my fellow workers and friends our side the company
It all changed a bit in the last 10 years so that knowledge is spent
But reading the Money pages in papers and listening to Money Box was all I needed
