cash from south to north

Hi All,
Does anybody know what the limit is for Sterling to bring in to the north from the south please, flying into Larnaca from UK I believe the limit before you have to declare it is 10,000 euros but during the financial problems in the south this was seriously reduced. Any info would be gratefully received.
