Taking cash out of Cyprus

Does anyone know how much Stirling you are able to take on your hand luggage to Uk through Larnaca.

According to the above cited Regulation and national Law, all travellers entering or leaving the Republic of Cyprus with cash or gold of value of € 10 000 or more in their possession must declare this sum or gold to Customs.

Many thanks. I thought that Cyprus probably still had a cash limitation in place that I think that they introduced about 5 years ago whilst in the grip of the financial Greece melt down. Interestingly you can take any amount of cash coming from and EU country into the UK according to the Government Advice that I've seen. Guess that post Brexit that will in too!

Actually it is $10,000 or equivalent taken out of any European country including the UK anymore has to be declared to customs with proof of where it came from, there are notices at all airports

So how much money can you take out to non EU country from both North Cyprus and Larnaca …just curious???

As an aside, a friend was stopped at Stansted heading to Ercan with a few thousand in cash.
He had receipts to prove it fortunately as anything over £1000 they can confiscate.

Yes that's right. They target known drug dealers and their minions travelling to Spain and back delivering messages apparently .
