I may be wrong - but if an Estate Agent quotes you a figure, you should be able to take it that that figure is 'KDV inclusive' unless they have specifically stated otherwise.suehowlittle wrote:Can anyone please tell me the up to date percentage for KDV on an estate agents fees. If you go into Lemar to but a loaf, and it's got a price on it, you don't have to start wondering how much KDV you will have to pay on top of that, any more than you would have to worry about VAT on a purchase in the UK, unless it said 'plus xx% VAT'. The VAT/KDV is the Service Providers responsibility, not yours.

e: KDV on estate agency fees
I was simply told that the fee was 4% plus KDV which is why I am asking the question Keith.
I might be wrong but I think KDV levels are different here on say, food, clothing and then estate agency fees.
I could have asked the agency but thought I should get an 'outside' answer.

Re: KDV on estate agency fees
Thank you for clarifying that.
I can't find a definitive answer to this, I'm afraid.
Most 'Services', unless they have a specific rate defined by Law, appear to be liable for KDV at either 15% or 16% - again I can't pin it down!
If no one who has recently completed a Property sale comes forward, you could perhaps ask another Estate Agent what their fees are, and ask them specifically about the KDV rate on their fees, or perhaps ask your Avukat...
I'm sorry that I can't help more, let's just hope that someone else knows!

Thankyou Keith for taking the time and trouble to reply.
Hope someone comes forward with that info. Do not really want to ring another estate agent

Re: KDV on estate agency fees
Its 5 % of the sale price if you are going through an Estate agent. zero if you are selling direct to someone.

Re: KDV on estate agency fees
Correct Keith...it's 5% of the estate agents fee not the selling price of the property
Sorry for the confusion.

Re: KDV on estate agency fees
It used to be 16% I doubt it has changed although it might have done...........
It is up to the individual deal if it is charged on top of the fee or included but the agent has to account accordingly
