It depends how much you can "Invest" But you can "Talk" with them and bargain. As they will not want you to leave, if you have fair chunk of cash in there.

All paid monthly Asbank 9.5% tl. Limassol Bank 8.5% tl. Garanti Bank 10.5% tl but depending on the amount you invest.
Sterling is around 3% in most banks?

I went into CreditWest this week and they gave me an uplift of 1.5% to 9.5% on a moderate sum, please do not ask me what that sum is but call in yourself to find out. They are very helpful

Is Isbank in Girne?

Isbank is in Girne but it is not the same bank as Asbank, as Isbank is a turkish bank and therefore classed as offshore, so no guarantees with your savings, unlike Asbank which is a Cypriot bank for example, where you get a 20,000 euro per account guarantee.

IŞ bank is one of the biggest banks in turkey and your money is very safe with them, but if there like the ones in turkey where i used to live there service is very slow, we used to have to take a book and allow a morning when going there

Agree with Andrew, there are some good banks here and like myself would prefer to use one of the more financially sound banks. Having said that customer service is extremely important in Cyprus and I highly recommend CreditWest

I think that Mainland Turkish Banking Laws give a much higher guaranteed compensation payment in the hopefully unlikely event of collapse. All mainland turkish banks are goverened by mainland law, Turkish Cypriot Banking Law differs in some respects i.e the lower guaranteed compensation. Can recommend Internet Banking with Garanti Bank mor user friendly than my UK Bank.

Went into Near East Bank Karaoglanoglu yesrerday and met up with an old contact of years gone by and was surprised at the rates they have. They will all be packaged depending upon your circumstances but you can easily get 9.25% to start and the sterling account % is very attractive. Naci the manager is excellent and they all communicate very well in English. Call in and find out yourself
