Fare £60 more why TA

So I was checking Turkish airline prices for Birmingham Lefkosa January /Feb £225 on Dec 30th now Jan 2 £286 for the same journeys the lira is still 2.89 so why the hike or why so c heap in December any explanations

Down to £255 for Jan Feb obvious no takers at £286
£240 to £260 the normal rate for the journey

I am trying to book flights out in September from Birmingham and got caught out, after payment the confirmation page showed a change of plane at Istanbul as the flight times showed as 6 1/2 and 7 1/2 hours I never dreamt there was a plane change just the usual pit stop. This was with Turkish Airlines and I am trying to get a refund, I am now trying to get flights with Pegasus from Stansted it is further to travel as we are in Oxfordshire and a pain. Everytime I logged on to have a look the price kept going up, they were booked as £208.72 each not inc service fees.
