Tractor Safari - No.1 Outing in the Karpaz
Want to see a different Kibris? Tractor Safari can show you the hidden face of the Karpaz Nature Reserve.
We take you to the top of the mountain ridge for the most stunning views of both coastlines, amazing rock formations of the Yellow/Red Rock and a lovely old church with hidden icon. You will be surrounded by wild goats, donkeys and birds.
In the spring a profusion of wildflowers can be seen everywhere, many of them indigenous to Cyprus.
This year they seem to be at their best with more flowers than ever. In March we've had a little mini Tractor Safari, just to get into the swing of it. Everybody enjoyed it so much as it was a perfect day and we did not even need the cosy blankets that we thought we might want in mid March. The skies were clear and the views fanastic, the Turkish mountains easily visable.
These trips are tailor-made and will accept 2 to 10 people. If you have any difficulty walking, let us know. As long as you are able, with some help, to climb the couple of steps onto the trailer, we can take you to all he fabulous places, that may be difficult for you to reach on your own. The trailer has a little sunroof for your protection and as most animals are used to tractors, they do not take any notice of them, giving you the opportunity to see plenty of birds, donkeys and other wildlife. We keep some binoculars on the trailer but suggest you bring some as well as your camera. We will stop anywhere on request to give you ample opportunity to record your visit to the Karpaz Nature Reserve. Lunch will be served either at a secluded beach or a lovely meadow, the choice is yours, or even on the trailer, if that is easier for you!
The Tractor Safari has proved a very popular event and we hope that we will see many more of you this year enjoying the amazing Karpaz countryside and the very tasty picnic lunch, homemade by Pakize, and enjoyed in comfort with a beautifully laid table and chairs in a fabulous setting, with freshly made coffee and cold drinks provided throughout the day.
It usually starts any time to suit you between 9.30 - 11.00 at the Damla Restaurant at the Eastern end of the village of Dipkarpaz. We can send you a detailed map if you feel you need it.
For more details contact Eva on 0533 820 6798 or Pakize 0533 875 6299.

Looks wonderful, but for those of us in Kyrrenia, too far for such an early start, but I guess fabif one is already up there.
You don't say how much it is though. Can we locals afford it, or is it tourist orientated in financial terms?

Hi ,
The trip takes nearly all day, includes freshly made Turkish coffee, a really delicious lunch with homemade food and and icecold drinks served at the beach or place of your choice with table chairs glasses etc. We will stop anywhere to give you a chance to take photos and admire all the fabulous views. You will see old churches, caves, and tombs and be able to swim and sunbathe at a quiet little sandy beach. All this for £35 all inclusive is not a bad price at all!! The trailer fits 10 people and we give a discount for a full trailer.

Re: Tractor Safari - No.1 Outing in the Karpaz
We did this the summer before last and it was one of the highlights of our holiday. We come regularly to TRNC and particularly enjoy the Karpaz as one of the last unspoiled areas of the Mediterranean. But of course the clock is ticking.
We thought we knew the Karpaz well but the tractor safari opened our eyes to the high ridge area between Dipkarpas and Golden Beach. The whole thing is well planned and carefully organised. The two people who took us grew up on farms in this high country and know the area intimately.
We thought the Turkish coffee stop and the brilliant lunch of delicious Turkish food outstanding. And to have lunch on the superb beach was magic. I have had the photograph i took as a screen saver ever since and it still evokes the enjoyment of a memorable day.
It isn't a highly polished tourist experience. When we went it had the feel of a real day exploring a magnificent and spectacular part of the island with the people who know it like the backs of their hands. Bulent is most charming and affable, his wife Pakize has good English, is a delightful sparky hostess and her food is great. They are hospitable but not at all in your face or pushy.
Absolutely no reservations at all about recommending the tractor safari and it is organised flexibly, so it is something for families as well as a peaceful and beautiful experience for those of us who enjoy quiet exploration among superb scenery.

Strandfan, thank you so much!! I also loved it and as Pakize and Bülent are my good friends and neighbours I try and help them to spread the word, but it's always good to hear other people having enjoyed it too.

Re: Tractor Safari - No.1 Outing in the Karpaz
Hello! This sounds excellent! for touring the hidden areas and a lot of fun. Question(s):
1. Do you have a schedule for March?
2. How long is the tour?
3. What about bathrooms?, and
4. are reservations needed? or a notice the day before?
Hope to hear from you soon!
