Advice needed on Samsung remote control/universal remote
I have a Samsung tv. I don’t think it’s a smart tv. It is over six years old. It is connected to Digiturk and a DVD player. It is not connected to my WiFi. My tv remote control has stopped working. Batteries changed, followed online instructions to reset etc. Nothing works. I want to ask if anyone knows if a universal remote control or a new Samsung remote(if I can get one) will work on my tv. All the instructions on the internet ask for IP address of the WiFi to set it up. As I mentioned before my tv isn’t connected to my WiFi and I have no idea how to connect the tv to the WiFi. Or even it’s possible. There is a button at the back of the tv and I have managed to switch the tv on and get to the Digiturk connection source but it is very difficult to manoeuvre the button to do anything else like volume control or getting the dvd connection source.

Check if your mobile phone has an IR (infrared) blaster, there is an app you can download to tell you if it has.
If so there are many other apps that you can download that will turn your mobile into your remote controller for the TV just follow the instructions.
PS most of the chinese phones have a blaster on them.

Thanks for replying Techtrader. I did that and unfortunately it says my phone doesn’t have the infrared blaster.
