Looking to buy an android TV box
I am looking to buy an android TV box and would appreciate some advice on what to buy as there seems to be hundreds to choose from. Can anyone help me please? Please note I have never used a box like this before so have no clue about them. I've lived here 12 years and only ever had a digital TV package! Thanks.

Thanks Bert. I really just want to watch UK TV series and that kind of thing. Not bothered about soaps, Strictly, etc or anything 'live'. Is Nvidia the make ofthe box?

Sounds like one of these would probably do you they are fantastic https://www.johnlewis.com/amazon-fire-t ... lsrc=aw.ds. Compare the two,not much difference TBF, apart from the price.

Re: Looking to buy an android TV box
Consider the Amazon Firestick it is far cheaper to purchase than many others and if you are only planning on basic use will be plenty good enough. You will need to either learn how to load programmes to use or get someone that knows how to do it for you. There are plenty of tutorials linked to by Navek on here.
Truthfully none of it is simple and there are always little niggles with 'streaming' but there is plenty of help out there and in here.

Re: Looking to buy an android TV box
NVIDIA IS THE MAKE . They aren’t cheap but are by far the best and although I agree that the Firestick is good as long as it’s the new 4K version . The Nvidia Shield is far superior albeit about a 100 quid more expensive. I guess it’s up to you but for what you want to do with the box then perhaps the cheaper version may be the one for you. If you struggle to load and side load what you want I am more than happy to help. Both these devices not that readily available here but other Android boxes are I would however suggest that you buy the best that suits your pocket as you will find it will work better for you as you find better streaming services going forward.

Am sure a Firestick is good, but it does not have a USB port to connect to an external hard drive.

NVIDIA is the best and easiest to use, but also expensive. The price tends to drop by about £30-£40 during "BLACK Friday week". AMAZON and CURRYS.
