Hey guys! The journey continues, we finally enter the bay of biscay but have problems getting the boat to the med!!
However we should be in the med a bit quicker that anticipated, so if anyone has any suggestions of places to visit or anchorages by the South of France, we would love to hear any recommendations!!

Thanks Bert! We're both super excited now, we have a lot of exciting things planned for the med that we don't want to give away just yet which is the reason we can't sail it round to Gibraltar!

We would have both loved to have sail it round but unfortunately we haven't got enough time, but as you say we're sure the road trip is going to be exciting! The good thing is Alf's driving so I can be the drinker and he can be the driver!!

Typical insular englander (although a 'swallow' in TRNC), I never thought of other countries having canals (apart from Suez and Panama!), so please wake me up and tell me what sort of route (roughly) would you have followed if draft etc would have permitted?
Regardless, best of luck with the road trip!

Our original plan was to go through La Garonne which goes from Bordeaux to Toulous and then Canal Du Midi to get to Sete which is on the South of France. There are loads of canals that go through France and the guy who built our boat who we bought off had been through loads of them and recommended the idea to us. Was just a shame that Canal Du Midi was a bit too much of a risk for us!

Hey Kibkommers!!

This week we finally get back sailing in the Mediterranean. We encounter a few minor engine problems and attempt to fish which doesn't go too well.

Could any of you share some fishing advice as we are newbies? We bought a new reel however we are still struggling to catch anything so far!

This week Alf heads home and sails in the Solent with his Dad & Grandad - back to where the sailing started in Hayling Island.
Cey & her cousin Dania get invited to a screening at the Cannes film festival and find out what life is like living in the cockpit locker changing the gas bottle.
Alf also returns with an additional crew member, Matt. Who is the worst person to fly on a plane with.....

Poor Alfie. Did Dania turn the lever the wrong way? A simple instruction, I know, but maybe you need to put a label on either side, shower left, toilet right.

Hahaaa yes, you defo saw this one coming Bert!! You actually have a shout out on this episode!! Surely that's the worst of the problems now... Fingers Crossed!!!!!

It wasn't to do with the lever this time!! The joker valve needed renewing before Alf left but was picking up the part in London - BUT the toilet was still in working order, until the morning he came back! Moral of the story.. do the jobs straight away otherwise they get worse!!

Sailing Coco

Happy Sunday fellow Coco’ers we're back with another weekly sailing vlog instalment. This week we have a change of crew, Dania (Ceylan’s cousin) leaves us to head on home and return to London as she heads to Camp America for the next three months. Kev & Tina replace her and meet up with us in Corsica.
We sail through 30+ knot winds and Coco handles like a dream, although we didn’t catch much of it on camera, we battle through and find a nice sheltered anchorage!
We find a “pink beach” on the north coast of Sardinia but discover that no one is allowed to actually set foot on the beach.
After a trip to the fishing tackle shop we put 4 fishing lines trailing the back of the boat in an attempt to finally catch a fish. We will let you watch the video and find out what the outcome of that was.
Spending a good few tipsy nights at anchor we get our “chill” on and the crew is blessed with some homemade Alfie cooking.

We continue our adventure sailing around the Mediterranean with Kev & Tina, exploring Sardinia and discovering a little secret gem of Sardinia.
We get our snorkel gear on and head into the clear blue water of the secret gem and are gifted with a sunset sky full of great colours!
Again its the same old story of trying to catch a fish, I really don’t know what’s we are doing wrong!!! Someone please help! LOL
Our anchor gets put to the test surviving 30 knot winds and stays firmly held! Which was a dream!
We arrive at Olbia - Sardinia where we celebrate a crew members birthday! 29 years old!!!!!!
We celebrate in a nice swanky bar in the back alleys of Olbia, then to a nice restaurant overlooking Olbia harbour!
Kev & Tina unfortunately have to head back to the UK. The preparations begin for our crossing to Rome!

This week our friends Robyn and Scott meet us in Porto di Roma and we take them around the Mediterranean Sea along the Italian coast. We give them a boat tour and teach them how we live in our little boat.

Meanwhile, Europe’s ‘Heatwave from Hell’ passes by and our poor friends suffer one of Europe’s hottest recorded temperatures for the time of the year!

Well everything seemed nice at first…..

We went out for dinner had a nice meal went to bed and was woken up in the early hours of the morning by a couple of guys on the deck trying to break into our front hatch!

Patras/Corinth Canal - taking a short cut....
Reminds me of the old "schoolboy howler" about Francis Drake's voyage around the world....
We're in Cyprus now, and it's HOT!

Hahaaa yes shortcut it was!! Going through the Corinth Canal was one of the moments we were most looking forward to when we started the trip! It definitely didn't disappoint!

Our videos are a bit behind and unfortunately we couldn't get the boat down to Cyprus as planned. We are now in Cyprus and loving the Island life and weather!!

Latest vid is now up! Taking a gentle sail down to Athens, we found ourselves tied up to a ferry dock as there were no anchorages and no berths available at any of the marinas. Luckily the dock security guard said we could stay for one night. So, with no hesitation we head off to TGI FRIDAYS and enjoy a well deserved drink and an evening on land with some nice food, something we haven’t done for over a week!
