Very disappointed we couldn't make it to George's; this visit (6 1/2 weeks!) has been pretty disastrous - OH has been rather ill (insect bites to blood poisoning) after first few days - at least no hospital as in April/May! Anyway, still enjoying your videos - I see Agia Napia is a future trip - definitely out of our (physical) age range......
Perhaps one day...

This week we head towards Milos but get stopped by the Meltemi winds!! We didn't realise that bad winds hit all the Aegean Islands throughout summer! Not only do we call all Marinas across different Islands to pull into, when we think we finally found a spot, we realise we sailed to the wrong Island!!

By the time we arrive to the wrong Marina, the winds had already started and our gearbox decided to give up on us! We lost control of the boat trying to get in the birth and the little Marina was like no other we had ever been to before... ZERO help!! Usually we dislike the help in Marinas as Ceylan finds someone watching a little off-putting! However, the one time we needed help...there was none there! We managed to get in the space but hadn't put our anchor down as there were no slime lines to secure onto! We decided to leave the space and moor up on the outside!

As we tried getting alongside, the wind and waves pushed us violently towards the stoney wall which scratched the side of our boat and popped a fender!! Despite putting ALL our fenders on that side the boat still kept touching the wall and we knew we were going to have to more AGAIN!

So the nightmare continued and we tried squeezing onto a small space on the other side of the wall, this time the elements were pushing the boat away from the wall and Ceylan couldn't pull both sides of the boat in. When she pulled one side in the other one went out. We decided to try and turn around and start again when the gearbox failed and we could only control the boat with one rope thrown to the pontoon! All other boats came out with their fenders as we had no control over the boat and it truly was a NIGHTMARE.

Luckily a local fisherman came out to help as did other sailors near by and together we manage to secure the boat to the pontoon and we finally breathe a sigh of relief. Alfie goes around the boats handing out beers to say thanks and we leave the boat in a local guy called Adonis's trusted hands...we hope!

We leave the boat in Serifos and carry on with our plans to visit Milos and later Crete, then England for a wedding! We visit the beautiful Kleftiko caves and let our hair down and have an unforgettable day with our friends Fadia & Adam.

This week we head back to the Greek Island of Serifos to bring the boat back to Athens. As we were caught off guard by the Meltemi Winds for the summer and a dodgy gearbox we ended up having a nail biting experience a couple months ago mooring up in Serifos. This lead us to take some time out of sailing while the winds were passing through the Summer months and therefore spending some family time with Ceylan's parents in Cyprus.

As we had a scary experience coming into Serifos it was such a relief when we managed to leave the harbour safely without damaging Coco or any other boats. Once we managed to get it into gear, we left it in gear the whole afternoon until we reached the harbour in Athens, where the harbour master towed us into a space.

As this was our last sail on our little Coco, the whole experience was an emotional one. We are so proud of our little boat and have had an incredible 8 months living onboard.

We have exciting news of a new boat that is currently being made and expected in April and will let you guys in on all the details shortly! But for now we will be selling Coco so if anyone is actually interested in looking / purchasing a boat already in the Med, give us a shout!!

After an incredible summer, our trip has unfortunately come to an end. We spent 5 years restoring boats, dreaming to travel on sea one day and we cannot believe we have done it. We have loved every moment on Coco, even all the times Cey kept breaking things!!

We look forward to exciting times ahead with our new boat arriving in April!! Stay tuned.... all will be revealed!!

We cannot thank everyone enough who followed the journey with us for the support and kind words along the way!! We always wanted to keep record of our travels, but hearing from you all makes the videos that more special! Thank you

"....dreaming to travel on sea one day and we cannot believe we have done it..."
NEVER give up on your dreams and hopes; otherwise it's just existence rather than life, and WHEN you succeed and others see, they/we are all encouraged - even a CD like me!
One of my favourite songs -
"The hopes we had were much to high;
Way out of reach, but we have to try.
The game will never be over,
Because we're keeping the dream alive."

Hope you do continue to record and show your further adventures - looking forward to them!

Thanks Jofra, that last post was so lovely! I can't believe we missed it!! It has been a crazy few months getting back into the swing of things in London. We are missing our sailing tremendously!!

Thank you for the words of encouragement!! We are so excited to start a new chapter of our lives in a few more months time and live aboard our new boat indefinitely. We are so happy that we can encourage you and others to go for it! With renting our property it should manage our mortgage and living costs onboard. We have found that we live a much more simple but happier life on the boat - only needing money for food and necessities and realising how much we don't actually need!

We will definitely document when we get our boat and start our journey again. It has been so nice having our friends and family talk about our travels as if they were there because of the videos and it's so nice meeting new people along the way. We will definitely be able to host more on our next boat and will be so nice arranging meet ups with you guys along the way

Great song that you recommended!!

Hi Everyone!!
Hope you have all been keeping well during this time!!
We thought we'd give you an update with our big news!! Last year whilst we were sailing we placed an order for a new boat that we had been planning for the last few years!! We wanted to see if sailing was for us before we fully committed, but we loved it on our little boat, so we knew it was the life for us!!
We finally got to see it yesterday, after delays because of lockdown! It just needs two weeks worth of additions and then we get the keys!!
We can't wait to become a liveaboard for good and continue with our adventure!!

Then we purchased the owners version, so one hull has a bedroom, wardrobes and bathroom:

And then on the other hull there are 2 bedrooms and one shared bathroom in between the two rooms in the middle! We didn't get a photo of the other rooms or bathroom but one of the bedrooms is similar to our bed and the other is a triangular bed that isn't a walk around bed!!

When we get the keys we will do a little tour and start getting our videos up and running again!! 00)))

Hi Everyone! We hope you're all keeping safe and well!!

We have finally got back into our video making again after a hectic couple of months! We thought we'd share it with you here for anyone interested! We've compiled a year of sailing into 3 minutes with a little peak of us ordering our new boat in France last year! We weren't fully ready to commit to the new boat last year but as we had a year to work it out before it was ready we thought.. why not :x))

On this video you'll see if we finally managed to catch a fish in our new boat after a WHOLE year of sailing the Med πŸ™ˆ Hopefully our new boat or skipper will give us a little luck!!

We finished our non stop sail from Southampton UK to Gibraltar. On arrival we learnt that Orcas were actually attacking sail boats along the coast of Portugal! Whilst we were sailing there we had heard that Orcas were spotted but luckily we didn't see them!! We just had 4 meter seas and tried to spot the 'Green Flash' every night ...thanks Pirates of the Caribbean! We completed the non-stop sail in 11 days with our lovely skipper Stu who will defo be a friend for life!! He ended up cancelling his flight and spending a few days with us in Gibraltar where we celebrated with steaks, curry's and cocktails!!

We were only allowed to stay in the marina in Gibraltar for 3 days as another boat had booked the space for the Wednesday. There were no winds along the coast of Spain so we decided last minute to sail around the corner to La Linea, where our friends were, and anchored there for a couple days! We met up with Sea Heroes, Sailing Makani & See The Little Things for drinks in Gibraltar one night and then Sea Heroes hosted a taco and wine night on their beautiful Lagoon 42 for us all and was a fantastic evening sharing all our crazy stories of sailing life.

They're all on YouTube so if you would like to watch their sailing vlogs here are their YouTube channels:

Sea Heroes: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCur94j ... foyEuXsAPQ
See The Little Things: https://www.youtube.com/user/al33x
Sailing Makani: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuAprd ... whg3fZ85Ig

THEN... we were sailing and making our way up to Alicante for some warranty repair work for our boat but we ended up taking a detour to Cartagena as we heard the sailing boat infront of us were trying to get boarded by immigrant boats. We would have loved to have been able to help in some way but the boat infront called for help and as there was only two of us onboard we decided to turn our Nav lights off and head to land instead. As it was a bit blowy we decided to anchor up in a bay near Cartagena and reorganise our warranty work and book a berth in Port Cartagena instead of Alicante. As always our Fountaine Pajot boat broker - Mi.Cat's were so helpful and organised the warranty work to be done there instead which we were so grateful for. After spending the morning organising everything we decided to take the afternoon off and have our first dip in the sea this year! We loved every minute and realised that we had been rushing too much (as always) to get to places!

Thank you soo much for watching our videos, we LOVE sharing our adventure with you all and love hearing from you!
Sorry for the long 3 part explanation of our last year! We have the camera out now so we will film as we go along!

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

This week Alf explains a few of the things we installed that has allowed us to become self sufficient when living on the boat at anchor. We go for a little sail and try to get to our favourite restaurant but FAILED miserably so we try making the best out of a bad situation!

We make the most of living on our boat and being at anchor in Ibiza before sailing back to mainland due to Covid cases spiking again. We feel so lucky that we were able to sail to the Med so quickly and have some down time at anchor during 2020.

Hope you all are having a lovely weekend.

Sooo... unfortunately our plans to sail to Cyprus throughout winter got interrupted again, this time because of Covid restrictions. We're not sure when we will make it to Cyprus now as we are booked to cross the Atlantic later this year which we had arranged a few years ago. We feel disappointed that we made it so close in our last boat but had gearbox, weather and time issues as we had to go back to work and then couldn't make it again this year on the new boat! ...but we hope you have enjoyed watching our travels anyway? If you are then we will continue to update you on here each week.

Lots of love

Good DIY, will the new stick enable/allow a spinnaker, or do you not carry one?
(Not quite sure about the new camera; bit too much "fish-eye" ?) :-?
Good sailing!

Hahaa thank you so much Dawnie!! It was worth it in the end πŸ˜… Sorry we missed your message!

Our next vid is up on our journey to Cyprus if anyone would like to watch!!
We were aware that we would be sent to government approved quarantine rooms when we arrived. When we landed in North Cyprus our passports were taken and we were put onto a coach. We heard that the approved rooms can be anything from University Dorms to 5 Star Hotels. We were in a coach full of students and were driven AWAY from the 5 star hotels so we were a little apprehensive on what our two week room would be like..
