FYI from Vodafone.

They have changed their Data roaming countries and Turkey is now excluded.

From 6th May 2020, you can use your UK allowance of minutes, texts and data in Turkey. However this will cost an additional £6 per day but only on the days you use your phone.

If you’d like to use your phone in Turkey with no extra daily costs, choose our Unlimited Max plan. Unlimited Max gives you inclusive roaming in 81 destinations worldwide, including Turkey.

Just received that text as well. £6 a day if you make a call, text or use the data? Not be staying with them then.

not Payg so no good for me. Bye bye Vodafone for me then.

Didn’t they do this a while back but then reversed their decision due to consumer backlash?

On monthly contract £37 per month
On 12 month contract £33 per month
On 24 month contract £15 for the first 6 months and £30 for the remainder of the contract.

That would be a game changer for me if it’s actually true

Just come off live chat with Vodaphone and they have confirmed that from 5 May Turkey will be chargeable!

They tried this about two years ago and relented (thank god)

But I don't see me being in Turkey or the TRNC before the autumn not saying what year

And with Turkish Airlines not taking over 65's

Ryanair grounding all flights until June from March 24

Three vodafones in our house; no messages/texts received as yet - checked here (Vodafone abroad web page) and cannot see anything...
However, when "Pay monthly" is selected -

"Turkey is a Roam-free destination

If you go over your inclusive allowance, you'll pay the same rates as you would in the UK

When "Pay as you go" is selected -

"Turkey is in our Europe Zone

There's no additional charge to use your data, minutes or texts in any of the 48 destinations in our Pay as you go Europe Zone [PDF: 677KB]. If you have a Big Value Bundle you can use your inclusive data, minutes and texts at no additional charge. Extras and Freebies can also be used in our Europe Zone. If you don't have a Big Value Bundle, Freebie or Extra you'll simply pay the same for data, calls and texts as you do in the UK

Other benefits while in a Europe Zone destination:

You can use your UK allowance or UK rates to call or text standard landlines and mobiles in other Europe Zone destinations as well as the UK
If you go over your inclusive allowance, you'll pay the same rates as you would in the UK

Both of the above appear whether calling from Turkey to UK or from Turkey to Turkey is selected... We're on PAYG, have to wait and see if we get a text (and whether their website changes)...

Vodafone emailed my wife they have not emailed me yet

Three contracts with them also for years. If they don't change their mind I will be dropping them.

Does this affect Telsim pay as you go here in TRNC?
