Screen gone blank on Doro

The above mobile (supposedly totally fool proof for silver surfers) has done a wobbly. I have a Redmi myself and know nothing about a Doro. Apparently it was put on charge last night and it went to 100% with SIM printed underneath and then went blank. I'm told the phone normally only charges to 99% (same as mine) and they have never seen SIM on the screen before. I've gone through basic instructions that come with phone but can't see anything to help. Anyone out there who can assist. Thanks.
