Mobile stopped working over night

Suddenly one of my mobiles has gone dead. Is there anyway of checking whether the battery is flat, whether mobile has been dropped and sim etc are not in place. Thanks

Connect the charger. If the screen turns on and shows the charging indicator,GB WhatsApp then the battery is down. If there's no indication, then the issue is other than the battery.

We've had the same problem with Samsung phones.
This is what we had to do.

Holding buttons for up to10 seconds!
Follow screen instructions!
If that doesn't work, try a search on YouTube.
