Driving License - first time

Hello,

I have a question about the driving license. Is there any service around (Girne/ Esentepe) who does all the paperwork for exchange the foreign license into a KKTC one? I dont wanna go to Lefkosa...

...and you retain your original driving licence in addition to the TRNC one, you don't 'exchange' it...

Did not know about having a notaire sign off on your photos,have not read anything on this,has anyone else

My friend was told by Trevor that he would have to go to the tax office in Kyrenia with his passport to get the paperwork certified in order for a 3rd party to do the rest for him.

Do it yourself its easy all you are paying for is someone to walk into the lefkosa office

I didn't do that nor have my photographs signed by anyone. Just went the driving school route as being new here it was easier than finding the place and jumping through hoops. Having said that I know of others who have done it themselves and it was easy.

First Licence
photos Saturday Girne 35tl

Muchtars letter Monday proof of residence form issued 10tl (no stamps muchter provided )
Take Kocan kibtec bill water bill

Forms from Girne tax office in English then complete at home

Drive to lefkosa

Straight over last roundabout before one way system in lefkosa then take immediate left
The office is a new building at lot of glass parking not a lot of space
Go in the entrance

right at reception into office in front of you ground floor
Counter the on right just through the doors View the counter as if upside down letter" L" go to the part of the same counter just round to the right

Arrived at the office at 11:30 come back please 13:15
13:15
Hand over forms( two photos of me Passport +copy ,UK driving licence+copy ,Driving Licence application form ,muchtar letter

sit quietly for 20 minutes forms handed back and pay 365tl 3 years licence
collected the licence showing my receipt two weeks later first guy on the right
They file the new driving licences in male and female

As I said, this is what Trevor at Capital Bank requires people to do. I have no knowledge of the driving school procedure.

Yes sorry if it looks like that was a criticism. It wasn't and was more of an observation. Just seemed strange to me as we didn't have to do it.

No problem I didn't take it as criticism just wanted to let people know Capital Bank's requirements.

Why make it more difficult for people,a put off for sure,I was going to use them but not now
