I have just had a call from a friend of mine. He has severed all ties to the UK now as regards a permanent address there and his passport is due to expire next year.

Has anyone done renewal through the British Embassy in the South? Can he download a renewal form prior to going there?

Would really appreciate any information you can give me. I told him about this fantastic Forum but I think the technology is a bit too much for him and his wife.

Thanking you in anticipation of a reply.

You download the form on line, then DHL it to Spain, (Cafe Boss in Girne are DHL agent). It then goes from Spain to UK to be printed and then it is sent to the British Consul in North Cyprus for you to pick up. It costs a lot more money than doing in the UK, it is about twice the cost plus the DHL fee.

You can no longer renew at British Embassies, from here the application has to be sent to Madrid you can download the forms online - maybe you could help your friend with this?
Cafe Boss offer a DHL courier service & I believe it can take around 6 weeks to come back.
