Visa Questions (Sorry!)

Hello,
I'm a UK citizen who arrived recently with my Uzbek partner.
I was given 30 days and they were given 15. I contacted the TRNC office in London on advice on how to extend by they said that it's not possible and both of us would have to leave the country and enter again.
I just wanted to check if this information is correct as they were admittedly unsure themselves. If it is possible to extend, which office should we go to and what documents would be required?
