Brown pool!
Hi,
Like most people I suffered with some of my garden ending up in the pool which is a really dark brown, can only see the second step of 4!
I have flocked it, how long does it take to clear please? I dont really want to empty the whole pool.

Should only take 12hours to settle on the bottom then hoover to waste, then let it settle and hoover to waste again.

Update on the Brown pool!
Its still a nightmare and not clearing? It been about 12 days or so since the deluge and it just refuses to clear. Any advise what to do next would be appreciated, I was thinking about emptying some water out of the pool and flocking again would that help?

Re: Brown pool!
You said in msg3 that "the pump is now working" - have you left it turned off?
It does need to be off! (as mentioned in msg2)
If you leave the pump running, then it will never settle...

Re: Brown pool!
December 5th, a house which I look after, the pool was allowed to settle (a month) and vacuumed to waste every 3 days after 3 weeks it was a bluey colour and then along came the Friday!! Due to the steps covered in mud the pool man had no choice but empty it and then bucket out the mud.

Re: Brown pool!
are you vacumning to direct waste ?
leave to settle over night with pump off, carefully vacuum to waste again, keep repeating
use the floc only when water is cloudy but bottom is relatively clear, run the pump on recirculate for a couple of hours to distribute the floc then leave to settle, next day vac to filter and backwash
