Pool leaking water.

We have a 10 x 5 pool which is leaking quite a lot of water. Its not the balance tank or the overflow channels. I realise you do use a lot through evaporation but I am topping up the pool for 1 hour every two days with a large hose pipe!

I believe you can get a pressure check done, does anyone know the cost please?

Any advise would be appreciated, cheers.

Have you checked to see if your multi / 6 way valve is leaking ? I maintain and repair a lot of pools and have seen this problem a lot lately . Way around it by putting a new valve in or the preferred cheaper way is by putting a tap valve onto your waste pipe . Hope this helps ......

As a rule of thumb, a pool loses water by evaporation between 30% and 50% of the pools volume per year.
Let's say 50% for our example.
A pool containing 100 tonnes would lose 50 tonnes per year.
Let's say approx a tonne per week.
Any more than that and you have a leak.
I can carry out a test and determine where your pool is leaking and what you need to do about it.

If you haven't resolved your problem yet, give me a call on 0533 845 8494

Mollie-did you check the area around the vacuum outlet as I suggested a while ago?

Hi Mollie,

We suspect we have the same problem with ours. I have topped it up a few days ago and it's now just below the scuppers (I think that's what they are called) Will keep an eye on it but am hoping it's just down to evaporation. We have only just moved here 2 weeks ago so we are new to all this pool malarkey but fingers crossed it's nothing serious and just evaporation. Good luck. Keep us all posted as to how you get on.

Hi Toftsv. Actually, it is not that hot for such massive evaporation. Plus, there's been some rain as well that normally tops water up during wintertime. We can stop by with an inspection in case you are worried. Always good to have a professional opinion on how your pool functions.
