far too expensive. crazy price indeed. plus smuggling from greek side required.
delivery "island wide"??? for 20 euro = you take over the smuggling? nice.
Anyway, you can get it cheaper in the North and for a 120 Wp panel you do not need a 30A charger.

Kibsolar bit sad that all you can do is attack another company's products, this shows you in a bad light not my company

Sorry, solarsolution.
We did not attack your products, we did attack your price.
When you are advertise here, then you can either defend your products or price.. or not.
You could say something about whether the 20Euro include the smuggling of the equipment into the TRNC.
Or do you leave "this" to the customer?
Anyway, to all "turkish cypriot" forum members:
smuggling is not necessary, 120Wp PV panel + charge controller for 150Euro incl TRNC- VAT.
We deliver for 15 within TRNC borders.
But the best solution would be when you tell me what you would like to achieve and then you get advice whether this PVpanel-charger combination will do the job you require or not.
Kind Regards

What every customer wants is clarity and honesty.

You have been asked numerous times if you deliver/install your products in N Cyprus at your advertised prices with all TRNC Duties paid.

it's a very simple question you have failed to answer.

I dread to think you would expect NC customers to try to risk smuggling goods into the North.

Are your products Duty paid in NC, or illegally imported by you or the customer?

it is perfectly legal for someone to purchase products from the South as long as the value is below €225 there is a large sign as you cross the border giving you this info, I myself often cross the border to deliver products and have had no problems.

So you agree duty is payable on any goods over 225euro/£180. What do you do on anything above this value, pay the Duty yourself, within your advertised price, or leave the risk to the customer????

To me this still smacks of 'Illegal Import' of goods! I'm sure the Border staff will want to take a look at a car or van full of solar panels or equipment.

solarsolutionscyprus has advised that duty is payable on goods in excess of 225euro. The item advertised on this thread is for sale at 200euro. Therefore we should presume that for one of these items no duty would be payable.

Of course if the customer purchased 2 of these items or had other goods which made the amount in excess of 225euro then duty would need to be paid. It is the customer who should be aware of this if they are intending to bring in goods from the republic of Cyprus into the TRNC.

I think solarsolutionscyprus has answered the question re tax/duty and no further comments are necessary.

Thanks

Sorry, PoshinDevon (for posting),
solarsolution again says half of the truth only.
1. "Border crossings from south to north with goods worth 225 euros" is only permitted for "private use". NO commercial purpose is permitted. Exluded are goods "made in Cyprus", but for those you have to get a permission and you must contact customs and import legally, which implements that you need to have a TRNC registered company..
2. many goods are excluded from crossing the border: Furnitures (from ikea), meat, milk products.. the list is actually longer as many believe and it is "good will" of the tax officers not to make a fuss about it.
Excluded are also: electronics. TVs, toasters, computers and so on and ...... any kind of solar equipment as charge controllers, PV modules, name it.
3. the so called "green line regulations" also apply the other way, north to south. more or less same restrictions, but lower value.
4. And, btw, it is also not permitted that a RoC company works within TRNC borders, eg, does installations or "only does deliveries".

Sorry again for posting.

Thank you for your posting and comprehensive summary of the rules and regulations. Very useful.

Factual information is good so it is important that people understand what the product is that they are buying, whether it is suitable for them and if purchasing from the south understand the rules regarding allowances, items not allowed and tax allowances. We do not want companies insulting each other on this forum in order to promote or protect their business

I think it would be useful for people to be able to go to one place and find out all the information that they require so do you know of an official web link that people could use to find out all the details regarding the import of goods, items included and items not allowed etc?

Let me know if possible so we can show the link on this forum and then it will be up to the customer to read the information, investigate further, fully understand all the charges and if they were complying with the law.

Many Thanks

PoshinDevon
Solarsolutionscyprus have been advertising their products for some time on here.

Often products well in excess of the 225euro import limit, some worth many £1000's. They have usually suggested customers collect these products from the ROC and bring them over the border personally.

They have, despite requests from myself, Kibsolar and others, always failed to answer the question of Import Duty.
This first response from them on this question has only related to an item below this limit.
I'm sure that Soner would not like to give the impression that Kibkom were somehow endorsing any misleading advertising that may result in financial penalties or confiscation of goods due to illegal importation.

This has nothing to do with Companies insulting each other. In fact I have not seen a single 'insult' traded by any poster. I do not know where you got this impression from.

For example: If a ROC business was offering new or used cars and not mentioning Import Duties, merely telling NC customers to collect the car from the ROC and bring it over the border themselves after parting with their cash, should Kibkom at least allow posters to question this business and inform other posters of any potential pitfalls?

Whenever I see any potentially misleading advertising I will certainly feel I, or other posters, have a duty to raise the matter to give other Kibkom readers the option of making up their own minds.
Life is already tough enough for Legally Registered Tax paying NC businesses and residents.

Thank you for your posting. I fully understand and appreciate that life is tough for NC businesses and residents.

Firstly, with respect to the product being advertised by solarsolutionscyprus at the start of this thread, they have posted some information with regards to the max value of goods that can be imported without incurring any tax/duty. However kibsolar has advised that there are also many items that are excluded from the list and even if the value were below the threshold allowed they cannot be brought into the TRNC. Whilst I fully support your reasons for challenging the costs and asking for information about import duty etc it is not allowable to suggest that any company may possibly be involved in smuggling or trying to avoid any duty payments. Hence I have asked if there is an official website/link that would provide all of the information required to be known when looking to bring in goods to the TRNC. we could ensure that this source of information was advertised on Kibkom for everyone to go and read. This would then allow the purchaser to investigate for themselves whether items were allowed to be imported, what they allowances are, what tax may be due etc. Clearly this is a complicated matter and better to read information from an official source. It would then be up to the purchaser to decide if either they or the supplier of the goods was working within the law.

Unfortunately the world over there are "scams" or rip off goods for sale - a short walk along any street in the UK, south Cyprus or the TRNC and these items are easily found, so it really is a case of the customer must make the decision to buy or not to buy.

With regards to companies insulting each other I can assure you that a quick look at the threads in this topic and on other topics there are a number of unhelpful comments made.

This thread is now locked as it has drifted from a product advert to more of a discussion re duty, taxes and legalities of importing, selling or fitting goods in the TRNC. Anyone wishing to enquire about the original items advertised can contact solarsolutionscyprus direct.
