President Akıncı receives Italian Ambassador to Nicosia, Cavallari

President Mustafa Akıncı this week received Andrea Cavallari, newly appointed Ambassador of Italy to Nicosia.
Akıncı gave a briefing to Ambassador Cavallari, who paid a courtesy visit to discuss the latest developments in the Cyprus issue and the collapse of talks in Crans Montana last year.
President Akıncı also conveyed the tension created by the unilateral steps taken by the Greek Cypriot side on natural gas research in the Mediterranean and the Exclusive Economic Zone, as well as the anxiety felt by the Turkish Cypriot side over these issues.
Akıncı also emphasized the importance of cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Kahraman: “We should break the unfair isolations imposed on the Turkish Cypriots together”

President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly İsmail Kahraman has said that it is the responsibility of all Muslims to contribute to a fair and permanent solution in Cyprus.
Speaking at the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Tehran, Kahraman said that he hoped that the conference will contribute positively towards solving many of the problems in the Islamic world. Kahraman stressed the importance on calling on Muslim communities in breaking the unfair isolations imposed on the Turkish Cypriots for years.

TRNC tourism is showcased at Ferien Messe 2018 Fair

The Ministry of Tourism and Environment participated in the Ferien Messe 2018 Tourism Fair this year as part of its efforts to promote tourism in the TRNC. The fair took place in Vienna from 11th to14th of January 2018.
The TRNC was promoted as a top travel destination at a modern stand equipped with beautiful visual materials showcasing the country. The TRNC took part alongside 750 tourism sector representatives from 70 countries.
Stands were also reserved for TRNC tourism bodies, KITSAB and KITOB, which were visited by airline companies, tour operators, travel agencies, tourism authors and tourism industry professionals from across Europe.
