Roi for PV solar systems

Return of investment calculations can be somewhat complicated…
Here, the price of electricity, the purchase price for the solar system, the exchange rates from , eg, GBP/euro to TL has to be considered. Possible interest rates, inflation, taxes and tax cuts for commercials can come on top.
Obviously we can not know what will happen in the future… KIBTEK did rise the prices approx 30% in TL, in euro, eg, it went up 10% only (from say, last price rise.. or “in average” ) , which may be history in a week or two, eg when euro hits the 6 TL..
Prices at the moment, incl VAT, euro to TL at 5,65,
per kWh in euro
0- 250, 0,14
251- 500, 0,17
501-750, 0,183
above, 0, 198
We could, as an average, calculate with say, 17 eurocent per kWh.
Let us use the easiest possible calculation…
If the price for a whatever ( or, eg, 1 kWp) solar system, which, eg , produces (and or saves, eg, for solar pumping systems which are not connected to the grid) 1650 kWh a year, then we get.... 1650kWh x 0,17 euro = 280 euros solar gains ( or savings from mains) a year. and therefore : and.. if the system would cost 1600 euros /280 euros = roi 5,71years.
If the pices for the solar system would be 1500 euros, we come to 5,35 years, a 1250 euro system price would come to 4,46years… but..if the 1250 euro system produces 1600 kWh a year only, the roi would be 4,62 years … and so on.
(usually homes need systems in the size of 4 – 7 kWp)
How many kWh a system produces “in reality” (eg, cheap panels used in Cyprus heat, panel aging, system is not 100% south or east-west installed, system configs not nice for any reason…this kind) can be calculated for the first year and for the 20th year. We do, with software we pay for. in the databank are thousands of modules and hundrets of inverters listed and basically every installation situation can be simulated.

PV modules are produced in different qualities. More or less efficient, good or bad heat and age degradation, better cells, glas , frames used in a better tech…. These differences are “big”, “medium” or “little” (depends which panels you compare) and often not good communicated. Good technical values and good build with longer warranties = The better = the more expensive. = the longer the roi.
But… it may be important that sort of “good equipment” is used.. and may accept a longer roi of 6 month or a year.. as everybody would like to have their systems a bit longer working, not only to be happy to have just achieved the roi and that was it.
To use “old style and old tech” , eg, 265 or 270Wp modules (or..1 x 2 meter = 330 Wp) with 10, 12 years manufacturer warranty only is… doubtful.in the summer and – or in a couple of years you see your system degrade.. and you can not do anything about it.
For solar inverters applies the same, but even good ones are no “wizards”. in combination with old tech panels they just can not produce as much as it would be possible with better modules.
For solar pumping systems the roi might be a bit longer, as you need not only modules., in general you often need a new pump as well (because old one does not run on solar panels ( +converter) )

Well, maybe it is “a bit difficult ” to ask a solar-business such a question....
but yes, to go solar makes sense.. especially for net metering - solar (pool) pumping, as no bank pays such high interest rates ..
.. and to go for better equipment.. makes sense as well.
