Therapy for independence

Do you struggle with everyday activities like getting dressed, climbing the stairs, standing up from low chairs, managing your chores? Do you suffer from a temporary or permanent change in your independence, whether through illness or recovering from an operation?
Occupational Therapy can help you learn new techniques or relearn skills to regain your independence. Unlike Physiotherapy, which is primarily concerned with regaining physical movement and strength, an Occupational Therapist analyses the person, activity and environment to put those physical movements into meaningful and purposeful goals for each individual. For example, it's great if the Physio helps you to get back to walking following a stroke, but you might find it useful to get dressed and manage to feed yourself too!
