Cancer Support TRNC - Tulips

I have just had a call from John Anderson. He is back in hospital and requires 3 units of O positive platelets. He needs 1 unit urgently and 2 as soon as possible. The donor needs to be male, under the age of 50 and not on any medication. Women are generally not accepted for platelet donation as the veins need to be large. If there are any gentlemen who can help, please call Jayne Matter on 0542 882 6063. Please share this post. Thank you.

Is the donation needed at Lefkosa. I will get my husband up there tomorrow if that is not too late. Do you know what times we can go. Thanks

The Lefkosa blood bank is open from 08.30 to 21.30. Please say that you want to donate platelets for John Anderson, room 229, Oncology Unit, Lefkosa State Hospital. If you need more information, please contact Jayne Matter, Tulips support worker on 0542 882 6063.

John has asked me to thank everybody for their help. He is unable to get online himself whilst he is in hospital.

John Anderson's situation has now become life threatening and 2 units of platelets are urgently needed.

John has now received the 3 units of platelets that he so urgently needed. Thank you to everyone who shared this post and to Steve Collard of the CESV who found the donors. John will still be needing O positive blood within the next few weeks. If there is anyone out there who can donate blood for John when it is needed, please text or call Jayne Matter, Tulips Support Worker, on 0542 882 6063 to give us your contact details. We can then call you when the blood is needed. Thank you.

We are appealing for platelets for John Anderson again. Please would any men under the age of 50 and not on any medication, consider donating a unit of platelets for John. His blood group is O positive.
John is currently an in-patient on the Oncology ward of Lefkosa State Hospital.
