Dental costs for check up and clean?

I haven't been to the dentist for a while, could someone give me an idea of the costs nowadays for a check up and clean? Thank you.

I was recently charged 150tl for a check up and 'sand blast' clean at Smile dental practice.

I payed the same price but not at Smile

There are three NHS charge bands:
Band 1: £19.70 covers an examination, diagnosis and advice. If necessary, it also includes X-rays, a scale and polish and planning for further treatment.
Band 2: £53.90 covers all treatment covered by Band 1, plus additional treatment, such as fillings, root canal treatment and removing teeth (extractions).
Band 3: £233.70 covers all treatment covered by Bands 1 and 2, plus more complex procedures, such as crowns, dentures and bridges

I was actually meaning in NC, Wanderer. I have to say the last time I went to an NHS dentist in the UK (about a year ago) I paid far more than you are quoting and it was the worst scale and polish I have ever had!

If you go down the road towards the top of the High Street, with HSBC on your left, it's the 2nd on the right and the surgery is 50 yard on the right.
