support for those newly diagnosed

Hello All,

I'm looking for your advice please.

I have a friend who has just been diagnosed with cancer here, and would like to know if there are any support groups available or people he could chat with if he wants to. He may not want to, but it would be nice to know either way.

Rather than just posting the number of Tulips (although that would of course be very helpful), I would specifically light to hear some honest experiences re. what was available (if anything) when you or a loved one/friend went through this and how it helped.

Also any advice re. hospitals etc. although he obviously has been to one already.

The Tulips Co-ordinator on 05338673553 should be able to recommend a specialist / hospital relevant to the particular type of cancer.

I'm not aware of any forums or self help groups, though I've never asked

If opting for private treatment, get at least 2 opinions (3 if they disagree!) and join BRS to take advantage of any discounts - which can amount to a lot!
