POISONING ALERT - ALSANCAK AREA

In Alsancak a small brown cardboard box was found on the side of the path containing "something" dead, obviously used as bait. On top of the small dead animal was sprinkled white powder. Any stray dog or cat wanting to get to the "meat" was going to have to eat the powder first. It is assumed the powder was lanate. Alsancak Belediye were informed and the box has been removed. This is the second form of poison in less than a week within 100 yards of each other (the first was fatal). This is the first time this devious method has been used. Keep a close look out for paper bags or boxes lying by the side of the path.

I understand it was about three quarters of a mile up the direct road to lower slopes, when it become a track. Road is called Kani Akansu and runs up between the large Gepas Depot on the main road and a new block of two storey apartments painted white and Mediterranean blue
