IMMERSION HEATER - NO HOT WATER?

Post by RAZR63 »

Turned on the immersion heater today for a shower, had it on over an hour and no hot water. It normally heats up after 1/2 hour. What's the cost to replace one approx.? Any one recommend a tradesman to fix it?

I had one fitted by someone else and after 8 years it is still working great. Kirk Bracey is a reliable, honest guy in my opinion, and I would trust him to carry out this simple job, no probs!

We have had consistent and efficient service every time and ourselves been extremely pleased with the service. They are our neighbours so please let them know AMY gave you the details and give me any feedback on here if you find any issues with their service or just to recommend them yourself . I am asking as I am trying to complete a basic quality control customer service type study on their behalf in relation to their dealing with the ex pats population, so all feedback gratefully received. I am still getting very hot water from my solar panels! Never use my immersion at this time of year.

You appear to not have realised that you are responding to a comment that was made in February 2015!

Back in April, my immersion heater seemed to be not working - called electrician,he informs me that the thermostat is missing and power wires cut - suggests that "perhaps someone else had a problem, so mine was 'commandeered/appropriated' to effect that 'someone else's' repair..."
I had (some while ago) heard that this was a common occurrence with water pumps, resulting in the practice of chaining pumps, but immersion heater thermostats?

< groan >

p.s. that's certainly an eye opener concerning the missing thermostat, it's a good job that they didn't simply bypass your thermostat, you could have experienced an exploding hot water tank (depending on the state of your expansion valve....)

If not preset immersion heaters should be set at 60c.
