Pressure Pump not working

My pressure pump has stopped working. I pressed 'reset' but nothing happened. It seems to have no power going to it. I checked the trip switches and all is in order. Any ideas?

Nothing lasts forever. Some of them have a small fuze inside. Best bet is just buy a new one and sling the old one away - they can be repaired but only if you are very lucky. Don't buy a super expensive one and treat them as a disposable object that you change every 3 to 5 years. Less stress on you and less outlay for a "Plumber" to do it for you. It is an easy thing to change anyway. Try to buy the identical one to replace the one you have fitted so that you don't need to mess about with different fittings and pipe inlet/outlet lengths.

Good grief 250TL!!! The three I have on different pumps only cost me 90TL each and all have been in use for the past two years without problems - use and throw away items! I have seen "Super" pressure switch's for sale up to 350TL each but as they all work on the same principle and all of them are subject to lime scale they are not really worth the extra.

Waddo,

Please read the original posting. The question was about a "Pump" not a "Switch"

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I am feeling a little stupid now, there was no water in the tank. We are on a prepaid meter and have a lot of credit on our card. I don't really know how the prepaid system works. Do I need to put the card into the meter on a regular basis and push the button? I thought that if I did it once waterr would flow until my credit was used up. Any pointers about pre-paid meters would be gratefully accepted.......
