Hi - wonder if anyone can help with recommendtions for someone who can do quite an extensive area of tiling on my ground floor/verandas?
How much should I be paying (per square metre) for tiling?

When it comes to any construction job, and tiling is not an exception here, there are always things to have a look at for a builder and things to consider for a homeowner, which will influence the final price:

1) Type and purpose of the surface being tiled (outside, inside, kitchen, bathroom, etc.) These factors will definitely influence the choice of glue, necessity of water-insulation material, and so on.

2) If you are re-tiling and don't want to touch the old flooring, it might require a special primer for better adhesion. And if you want to lift the old flooring, then it is extra job as well.

3) When you’ve chosen ceramic tiles according to your taste, it’s always good to show it before purchasing to the specialist who will be working on your property. He will be able to tell whether this type of tiles is of a good quality and suitable for the surface to be tiled.

4) The surface itself and surrounding environment like pipes, corners, steps, skirts, and similar element, will affect the cost as well.

I am writing this to say how impressed I am with Gurkhan Hancerci. 05338604934. I found his number on this page, called him and he arrived to give me a quote when he said he would. He has carried out tiling as well as some small building works for us and his work is excellent. He also speaks very good English. I recommend him.
