Plumber to repair / replace leaking hot water tank on roof

Our tank is accessible by sun roof outside stairs. The tank is leaking so not sure if repairable or needs replacing. Would like a recommended person. Live in Catalkoy /Ozankoy borders near China Garden Catalkoy.

I can't help, but if you find out the name of a good plumber I have a couple of jobs to be done. Alan can't do it, and I am just a useless female ( well, not much good at plumbing!) - so I am looking for what used to exist here, a good craftsman who does not require paying in gold bullion!

When we took possession of our property we found that whilst it had been empty there were a few minor plumbing jobs that needed doing. The water pump had failed, mind you not surprising as it looked like something out of Noah's ark and all the other neighbours pumps had been replaced except ours. We also had a leak from the roof tank and on our last morning another small leak from pipes under the sink.

Fortunately a quick search on Cyprus 44 found a few plumbers names who came recommended - we chose Orhan and true to his word arrived on time, did the work and cleaned up after he had finished. Nothing to impressive you may think, but spending an hour sorting out the roof tank leak when the wind and rain were lashing down and coming out to us within two hours on the last morning made us feel he cared.

We are confident he will do a good job so will be using him again in the future for some planned work replacing our shower.

Sorry, only had his number. First time we called we agreed to meet Orhan at Supreme supermarket on the main road on the way out of Girne heading east near Catalkoy area as he was not 100% certain he would find us.

All I can say was that whilst we are trying to learn turkish, he spoke good english and was able to explain everything he was doing which made things easy for us. Conversation never got round to where he was based and we only found out about him after reading Cyprus44 and his name appeared regularly as being highly recommended.

Orhan came when he said he would, in fact phoned to ask if he could come earlier. he seemed to know his stuff even commenting that we needed a air vent valve in addition to the pressure release valve.This hadn`t been mentioned by a British plumber that had quoted.
We also asked him about our water mains pressure which another British company had told us about after they had replaced our ball valve in the cold water tank for the 3rd time.
he offered a cheap solution and then a more expensive one i.e. a pressure regulator valve.We had to talk him into using the more expensive version (albeit the better one ) but how often to you have to talk them into using the more expensive one.
When could he do the job.............the following day.

Came on time when he said he would, had the new tank delivered to us, AND GOT THEM TO TAKE THE OLD ONE.
Normally you get left with the old bits and bobs to dispose of yourself.

All in all a job well done.
Oh and he said he would guarantee the tank for replacement for 2 years and for repair for the 3rd.
So Marion...would recommend this guy.

Glad to hear he did a good job. Always a slight worry when recommending anyone or anything for that matter! We will be calling him soon for a couple of minor jobs when we fly out in a couple of weeks.

We got YUNUS enerji 5 Karaoglanoglu 0533 868 7693 to come and fit a new hot water tank on our roof. No problem to them. Previously they made and fitted a solar panel that had blown off. Good guys and good prices.
