What Is the going rate for having a stone wall built?
My neighbour's and my own villas are bordered by a goat farm.
We are looking to build a 1.2m high(which I believe is the max you can have)stone wall which will be on flat land, not prone to flooding and straight for approx 75 metres.
Can anyone advise on the cost per metre all inclusive, pointed on both sides.
Also does anyone have any good reliable and value for money contacts.
Thanks in advance.
Phil

Give this guy a call, he's built and repaired a fair number of walls.

Don't forget the grey stone walls are usually more expensive because they are stronger, heavier and more resistant to floods than are walls made of the sandstone type, which are usually cheaper per square metre.

Hi, as this is an old post, has anyone had a wall built recently and can advise on current cost per square meter?

Had my walls in soft stone now for 13 years, if well made they will last.
Many houses built of this light stone.

Hello there,
Based on your description (flat land, 75m long & 1.2m high and pointed on both sides), the cost for a project like this may be around 3500-3800STG. Usually the sandstone walls are more expensive than the dark stones...
Should you still require more accurate costing, please call me on 0533 887 6333 Black Olive Construction and Home Improvements. Thanks

BOC construction-thanks for the quote, but sadly if you look at my original post it was in 2012.
The wall has now been standing for 4 yrs.
By the way, why do you quote in sterling, given that the materials and labour are all availabile in the local currency which is TL?
I will never do business with any company that sources materials and labour in TL but quotes in sterling-And I have many british friends that think the same as I-Please don't treat us like we are stupid, some of us are I admit, but a lot are quite smart.

Thanks for your reply Philoz, my mistake...I should have checked the date it was posted and avoid wasting your time....
As to my choice of "currency", that is our company policy. Same as when you have paid for your property. They are all in foreign currencies. To convert the price in TL, just use the daily exchenge rate thanks..

Re: What Is the going rate for having a stone wall built?
Sorry but I can not understand the reasoning of the purchase in TL and the quote in Sterling stopping people doing business!
If you purchase IT products they are all purchased in US dollars and then quoted in TL or Euros or Sterling - what is the problem? I am sure you are aware that not every worker here is paid in TL either, at least one supermarket here pay's their staff in Euros which is a real nasty way to pay your staff causing them to loose money on the exchange rate handling fee at the very least.
I have been buying wood for the last three years, the quote, agreed upon was 1000TL as the rate was then 3.3 to the £1, that was £300 to the load Over the years and without changing the quote at all, we have agreed to raise or lower the amount of TL per load as the pound rose or fell - no problems at all. Top quality time aged olive and karob product, well cut and stacked away for me as well at a very good price and super dependable service.
But if that makes me stupid then I give up! The local businessman provides a service and I pay the local businessman's fair prices - currency used is irrelevant.
