One of our charity shops Heartbeat which is by the Girne State Hospital has had to be closed due to damage caused by heavy rainfall and a burst pipe.
We would like to ask any tradesmen or DIY businesses if you could donate to us any spare materials you may have to help us get the shop back to a reasonable condition that we can reopen it.
The building itself is derelict in places and we cannot do major work all we are asking for is roof tiles to be replaced (we have the actual tiles but we need someone to do the work) wood to board up empty spaces where window glass should be, there is fungi in the walls that needs to be treated and we need paint and plasterboard.
Our Heartbeat shop is a crucial part of our charity and plays an important part in the local community. The customers are local families who buy for their children and themselves, patients from the hospital, students , visitors to the island we have every nationality of people coming in.
Our charity raises money to BUY vital medical and often life saving equipment for the hospital to help the Doctors/Surgeons give their patients the best treatment possible. We are helping anyone who uses the hospital.
If any of you reading this can help us either with a donation of materials ( a pot of paint we would be so grateful for) or could give us a few hours of your time and skills please ring Wendy on 0533 8686078, leave a message here on Kibkom or go onto our NCCCT FB page where you can read all about us as well.
Our financial year is from July to June and we have just had our books back from being audited.
In the year from July 2016 ending June 2017 we purchased and gave Girne State Hospital medical equipment to the the value of 357,184.00 TL which we are all so proud in doing.
This money was raised by our two shops and the social events that we put on at various venues.
Can you help get us up and running again in Heartbeat? We will roll our sleeves up but we need your help as well.
Thank you. - NorthCyprusCancerCharityTrust. We are the small local charity with the BIG Heart.
Some may think if we have raised all this money why cannot the charity pay for the repairs itself. We do not own the building , we are allowed to use it rent free,we are all volunteers and we claim no expenses and we try and keep every TL/Penny or whatever denomination we raise for what the charity does - HELP the local State Hospitals. It is our 30 year Anniversary this year.
