The bottom track on one pair of our patio doors is worn and needs replacing.
Has anyone had this repair done and can you recommend a tradesman for the job.

Thanks in advance.

If you check on one of the recent threads you'll see I have the same problem. Have been recommended to the guy to the rear of The Deli in Alsancak, who will repair rather than persuade you to buy a new door. Went to see him this am but he was out on a job, but will keep trying as quite a few people recommended him. Apparently its a common fault, particularly if you have like us, one door that has more use than others.

No matter how worn the track is, it's usually the bearings in rhe rollers at the bottom of the door that have packed up.

I've replaced the ones in my kitchen door twice in 14 years, and they're just about due again!

A groove has worn into the metal track and is split slightly so I suppose the rollers could also need sorting, the door still slides with a little effort.

Ali from company behind The Deli been and gone. Repaired two sliding doors, one of which was also fitting badly and causing dreadful draft when we had the gales. Replaced one window/shutter which had jammed completely and went round window and doors shutter with WD40 where shutters were hard to open. Great job and extremely reasonable!!! Can't fault him if I tried plus he and the younger guy were not bothered about the 5 dogs.!!!!

Try Gurel, 05338304305. One man operator who does windows, aluminium, mirrors, picture framing, etc. Works out of Girne but travels to most places and speaks good English with price quotes very reasonable. Good quality work.
