“Cold smoked” mackeral

I bought a “cold smocked” mackeral from supreme with the intention of making pate. When I stripped it I realised it possibly wasn’t cooked.
A google search couldn’t understand the difference between “cold smoked” mackeral and cold smoked mackerel. I only found one website that gave me the correct answer - it needs cooking.
I’ve been cooking for 47 years - still time to learn something new!

Depending on where you are located of course, I recommend the Three Bears in Alsancak for stuff like that. Very reasonably priced too.
