Does it exist?
Is it subject to double standards?
Is it censorship?
Is it a good thing or a dangerous road to go down?
Does it stifle debate or just hate speech?
Most agree hate speech should be stopped, who should decide what is hate speech?

ETS, from the beginning... i do not as much time as you seem to have....
cancel culture
Does it exist?
oh, yes. (the) cancel culture always existed. eg, facism , KKK, racism and all the "mixtures" ARE cancel culture.
eg, a master of (attempted) cancel culture is Donald Trump.
Is it subject to double standards?
oh yes, a master of double standarts eg, is Donald Trump
Is it censorship?

a good thing. overdue, same as PC.
Does it stifle debate or just hate speech?
hate speech always existed and the term and "development " of "cancel culture" definitely stifles a debate which can not be stopped any more.
Most agree hate speech should be stopped, who should decide what is hate speech?
hate speech can not be stopped (that easily)
i personally find the termination of D.Trumps twitter/FB aso accounts for at least "doubtful". a company should be not be permitted to do that.
it must be legally regulated, see "stifle debate" and that is "a job" for the next decades. same as discussions about PC (and other discussions).

So Kibsolar to summarise you aren't against it as long as only one side has the power to do it? Or only one side or one person is guilty of it?

There is a good book You've Been Publicly Shamed by Jon Ronson that illustrate the cancel culture in action.
You'll be surprised that some of the examples don't include Donald Trump and astonishingly pre date his Presidency. Obviously a right wing cover up there.
You might want to arrange a pile on to get Ronson banned as he must obviously be a fascist which will come as a surprise to him and his many readers.
