Samsung tablet screen gone black. Update

My Samsung tablet screen has gone black. I've tried doing a reboot to no avail. Also spoken to the Ahmet at the computer shop and he couldn't help. The only other thing I can think of is taking the back off and seeing if anything loose. Not sure I want to do that though. Has anybody had this happen to them and if so how did you fix it??

If your laptop has an HDMI socket - try connecting it a TV. If you get a picture on the TV, it would seem to point to a physical problem, (loose or broken connection etc.) rather than a software or video driver problem.
It may help to eliminate faults, so if you have to take for repair, at least you can tell them what you have tried.
hope this helps

Mine sometimes starts up very dark and I can only just faintly see the the login screen in a dark room. Once I do get in I'm then able to turn the brilliance up to normal level. Very strange🤞

Just in case anybody is interested.
I took my tablet into Sharaf Electronics and asked if they had a Samsung service centre. They said yes in Nicosia. So it was sent off last Saturday, on Monday I had a phonecall to say it needed a new battery, cost 700 TL which I excepted. Phone call on Thursday to say it was back in the shop and I picked it up today.

Credit where it's due, can't fault the service and I now have a working tablet again.

I notice you first thought the battery was fully charged so that wasn't the problem. Just out of interest, it seems strange that it wasn't fully charged at all.

It was telling me that it was 100% so I could only go on what I was seeing. What is the saying ''don't believe everything you see'' !!!!

My stand by mobile, went blank yesterday. Ok in the evening dead as a dodo next morning. Very little on the memory, hardly used, less than a year old. Maybe a visit to Sharaf might help. Think Im in line for a new laptop in any case. Hope Sharaf sell Lenova?

The worst they can say is no. I couldn't tell you what type of laptops they sell. Good luck. Maybe Deniz1 can help as they have just purchased 3 laptops from them.

You are in luck, they do.

Must be the time of year for things going kaput. Although my UK mobile didn't actually die, noticed back of phone was coming off, caused by swollen battery, which apparently is dangerous. Cost for new battery 800TL, so didn't bother, not worth it for a 5 year old phone.

Don't mean sound naive, but do you think the heat an have an effect on our phones and tablets etc. I know you must not leave them in the fully sun, but can heat have a bearing?

It could be - I had had mine in the garden in the shade for a good 2 hours - it's all I can think that could've happened.

BB I think you could be on to something there, am sure the heat here will have a negative effect on batteries. Can't remember what device it was now, but had left it out in the sun and it wouldn't come back on for ages. Am assuming it was the heat, and it only came back on when it had cooled down enough, well, that was my thinking at the time. Could well have been that phone with swollen battery, but can't honestly remember now.

It will be interesting to see what the Turkcell engineers have to say about the black screen on the mobile. Are we taking bets that the answer will be an expensive new battery. If they do say that, despite the fact the phone is a DORO and is the biggest selling phone in the world, supposedly, as it was designed for people with dementia and very simple to operate and there used to be a six month waiting time, I won't be falling for it.

Collected the phone from Turkcell today and the repair cost 250tl. Apparently a lot of people suffer the same problem on various devices. The first thing they should check is the port where the charger fits. He said that people are not always careful enough about putting in and taking out consequently, the port on the mobile etc., gets knocked about a which effects charging. Not the answer to all problems but its worth thinking about and was certainly cheaper than being told "you need a new battery" or your device is knackered. t
