We are planning to be open 9am till late for breakfast, lunch and evening meal.

There are still many of us about who believe in talking to people face to face. Indeed there are others who still maintain that the earth is square, Brexit is a good idea and JFK was shot by the CIA - what's more some of them (mainly those with those shiny cooking foil hats) have proof that the moon landings took place on stage 31 in Hollywood - lol, silly really as we all know it was made in Spain on the Star Wars set!!!

Anyway, we are out here honest and you would be surprised how many of us - I know of two others myself - there are! So, enough secrets for today, got to get back to my upgrade on my ZX81, it's starting to run a little slow these days................................

We enjoyed a lovely Valentine's evening at the new Selvi restaurant. The meal was really nice and the staff very attentive. It was near enough a full house, although I believe we were the only ones who responded to the ad on this forum. I wish Kemal luck with this new venture and hope it proves a success. The building has been thoughtfully constructed from timber and is in a really beautiful spot. As its profits benefit the wildlife rehabilitation centre, I hope it is well-supported.

So, how do we get there please? Driving from the main Girne to Lefcosia roundabout and heading towards Lefcosia - what next??? Planning a trip out there tomorrow and if any help available would be most grateful.

On main Girne to Lefkosa road just before first speed camera near St Hilarion turnoff on right, turn left onto windy tarmac road which runs around edge of mountain and past army camp. Follow this road through the main army camp but take first broad left turn, which heads toward Dikmen and Taskent. Follow this road through countryside and then through Dikmen village until you see a sign for Taskent where you turn left. You then follow signs for the picnic area (Taskent piknik alani) which will take you into the rehab centre. Restaurant is at back of large car park beyond the old Greek church. Good luck!

You will be heading toward the huge flag on the mountain, and the centre is just beyond it on the road to Buffaveto castle.

Many thanks frontalman, I have saved the directions but will give it a miss today as my outboard engine is playing up - lol. Yet again the river runs down the hill outside my house so maybe tomorrow is a better idea. As I would be passing the flag on the mountain on the way there, I may even try it from the other direction (I live in Catalkoy) and take the mountain road if it is clear. Whatever happens, we will get there soon. Thanks again.

If you are East of Girne it would be just as good to take the mountain road past Buffavento castle.

Driving under the flag at night while the lights are going on and off is certainly a spectacular sight. But it would drive me mad after a while if I lived there, as many people do.
