Is it possible to register a friends 'phone using a photocopy of his passport. Asking for a friend who is in the UK until March.

Re: 'Phone Registration.
From my experience the answer unfortunately is no.
We tried to use a copy of my wife’s passport a week ago and the office manager refused our application.

What type of registration? Is it the SIM in response to the text from Turkcell or the phone because it was purchased abroad?

Re: 'Phone Registration.
We went to the Turkcell franchise opposite China Bazaar in Karakum, less busy than the Turkcell offices. They took a photocopy of our passports but they may accept a photocopy. In addition they needed to know: the 3 most frequently used numbers we called, we ended up handing over the phones as the numbers we gave them were rejected; you'll need the father's forename, mother's forename and maiden name plus the address of the phone owner. We had to write our forename, surname and sign 3 pages of a contract on each side, so I guess that's where the process will not work as they will, I assume, need your friend's signature.
