I knew they did funny things up on Hilarion but I never heard about a space ship launch from there before - lol. To us lot East of Hilarion we should have a good view then?

Greengate, Not being university educated, in fact not really educated much at all - lol. I am confused here, easy to do I know.

If the Space Station (SS) can be seen at 4:59 then again at 20:05 and finally at 21:40 that kind of gives it 1 hour 35 mins to whip around the Earth! So where the hell is it between 04:59 and 20:05? Has it parked somewhere or just slowed down or totally changed direction?

Blinding light bulb moment - it can only be seen in the dark you Muppet!!!! Sorry I asked now but I did so I will post it and everyone can have a laugh on me.

Hi Waddo

You are not the only one, i had to explain the process to my wife (but then - i can't cook) - the ISS orbits approx every 90 mins, and the orbit/angle varies slightly with every rotation.

The best viewing times are those at night when the sunlight reflects off the solar panels. It can occasionally be seen during 'twilight' hours, but only at certain times, and you have to know exactly where/when to look.

Some of the best viewing was when the space shuttle was either docked with it, or parked in orbit behind it, unfortunately we will never see that again. But its still a great achievement.

Its now 20:20, sat outside and waited, waited, grabbed a beer and waited answered my phone took my eyes off the sky - missed it!!!!

I will be back outside at 21:38, waiting for the clouds to gather right over my house - arghhhh!

Nothing here, left of St Hilarion looking towards across the mountain range to the East with a telescope. Maybe a Trump plan to kill me off with mosquito bites!!

Just in time, I managed to see it going over the top of my house, bright as a star but so fast, by the time I found my binoculars it was too far off. Thanks for that anyway, I will be out again tomorrow night for sure.

Situated in Alsancak, near Green Petrol, it appeared from the direction of Karsıyaka.

It looked, at first, as though it was going to come overhead but then seemed to be heading rather more to the North.

Disappeared over the sea to the North East.

Think I read somewhere the space station is doing approx 17,000 mph, that's the speed most of us will be doing to get to the bar when they reopen.

Here's the link to the starlink tracker. Looks like the next time, with good visibility, will be at 9.02pm on Sunday. Coming from South of Karşıyaka to North East of the island.
