Apart from the Mail and the Sun (both; enough said...), there appears to be virtually no reportage of this around the world....

Greece keeps arms & troops on the islands in violation of the Lausanne treaty for years. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Turkey decides to show some teeth.

The map in the Daily Fail shows a loop in the River Evros, which has meandered since the border was drawn along the (original) river bed.

The loop has formed on the Turkish side of the river, leaving a piece of land between the original river course and todays Evros.

Is that land still Turkish? - perhaps if swapped for some loops on the Greek side it could become Greek ... eventually.

As ever the Greeks have decided unilaterally and without consultation that it is theirs, and now wish to fence along the river to keep migrants out. :-1:(

Building a fence on your neighbours ground has caused trouble before, but to Greeks and GCs most of the Med is their 'cultural heritage' and they should do as they please. Seems familiar somehow ...
