OscarPetrol Car Lottery
Someone who knows how to get info on which lottery number won the car at Oscar Petrol, Girne.
It is said that the draw was on May 19th and that the number would be published next day in newspapers (which?)
I asked for information at the petrol station and a man then said that you have to wait three months, so until August !!! Very strange.

I recall several (many) years ago a similar situation. The prize was a bungalow /villa and if memory serves there wasn't a satisfactory conclusion reached on that one either.

It was won by a family member.

I think you refer to the Victorian Homes fiasco where a villa was offered as a prize and was not forthcoming...

Re: OscarPetrol Car Lottery
For the house lottery?
It was for charity, so no one would want their money back, would they?
I suppose that the winner might have technically been entitled to a refund, as he was the only one that 'lost' - I think that it was the manager of the Turkish Radio Station in London (Wood Green) rather unsurprisingly
The 'Donor' was the owner of Victoria Homes, 'Reg' (Recep) something, and he offered the prize in memory of his Mother who had recently died, but he ran into financial difficulties and the Company folded. I think that he did make the offer in good faith, but got defeated by events...

Yes Recep aka Reg, we went to his lokanta in Alsancak near where we lived at the time and told about his mother Victoria after whom he named his company. He seemed genuine. We agree the housing bubble bursting caught him out as did spiralling materials costs.Keithcaley wrote: ↑Mon 01 Jun 2020 6:24 am
