With 300 redundancies about to happen to the RSPCA in the next month, this sort of thing will probably happen in the UK as well.

The city estimates that its 200,000 resident dogs deposit 16 tons of waste a day, of which the city cleans up 12 tons, at a cost that works out to about a dollar a pound. Much of the work is done by 70 green ''caninette'' motorcycles with vacuum cleaners attached, but that is too few, and some are sidelined in a contract dispute.
