MAG Box replacement
I have tried the Search facility without success:
I want to upgrade my current MAG250 box to a MAG4xxx series.
Does anyone on here know where (or indeed if) I might be able to buy one from in TRNC?
Thanks.

Re: MAG Box replacement
You have no chance of getting a MAG box here unless someone is selling one. I upgraded my 250 to a 322 but I had it sent from the UK in a parcel that got through.

Re: MAG Box replacement
Hair Cut, was it worth the upgrade? I have a MAG 256w and am experiencing bad buffering even when down speeds are in excess of 20mb. At this rate I may just drop back to my trusty old Acer RL80 - lol.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Re: MAG Box replacement
In reply to Wddo, yes I think it was worth it and I still have my old 250 in reserve.
I only get buffering when the speed is below 4.

Thanks, will wait till my mate comes from UK (could be a long time away - lol) and he can fetch the latest one for me.

Re: MAG Box replacement
It might not just be your Mag box that's the problem, I have a mag 325 and have been getting really bad buffering for the past couple of weeks. I don't have an answer to help you though. I was told once (not sure how correct it was) that some ISP's here reduce the service to mag boxes. Not sure if this is even possible as I'm a complete technophobe.

Re: MAG Box replacement
Thanks Teatime: my principle reason for upgrading is I want a box that can cope with 4K tv. If it helps with reducing buffering (which has been unusually bad recently) that would be a bonus. I am told that it can. My downloads speeds are usually 15 - 25mbps so pretty good. I suppose I shall have to wait to obtain one from elsewhere.

Re: MAG Box replacement
I thought the very minimum speed for 4K UHD TV is 25mbps.

Re: MAG Box replacement
Yes, it is minimum of 25, my regular download speed is around 25mbps, often 30. Think I can live with it when it drops below 15mbps.
