Just in the process of moving on from present North cyprus address...
Need to take name off present Kibtek accommodation supply...
Get deposit back etc.
Is the process notice etc quite straight forward..?

Perfectly straightforward - provided that you have the ORIGINAL receipt for the deposit payment - copies are not accepted (because multiple people could have copies!).
If you cannot produce the original receipt, then your alternatives are to: -
1) Tell the new occupier that you are prepared to leave the electricity connected if they will refund the deposit money directly to you - which leaves the account in your name, of course - or
2) Close the account and leave them to create a new account, and forget about retrieving your deposit

I rarely disagree with Keith but from recent experience you do not need your original deposit receipt to reclaim it just your passport.
They might not have the cash to refund you there & then & allow at least an hour or so but that is part & parcel of our wondeful life in TRNC!

Easy enough if you are here. Just passport as,originally said.
Whatever you do .do not allow the new owners to carry on in your name as you will never get your deposit back without incurring costs. Close the account there and then. Had this with my brother who was in the UK when hes property was sold.
Solicitors dont deal with deposits. Also unless you have power of attorney then you can't do anything anyway .lastly they will give a cheque for you to pick up when they ring to tell you its ready
Never get the call. Then it sits there until it goes out if date
As I said. Ok if you are here
My 2 family members have both lost their deposits because they couldn't come.
